Renew Vehicle Registration
Renew your vehicle registration online to receive your registration certificate in the mail. Licence plate expiry stickers are no longer required as of January 1, 2021.
If your registration expires in less than 10 business days, renew your registration in person.
A registry agent service charge of $13.00 per vehicle will be added to your order.
The Vehicle Registration Certificate is proof that the vehicle is currently registered. Licence plate expiry stickers are no longer required as of January 1, 2021.
Online renewals are available for private passenger vehicles and motorcycles.
Find out if you can renew online:
- You have a Class 3 passenger vehicle - including cars, light trucks, vans, motorcycles, or motorhomes
- Your vehicle is not registered as a fleet or company vehicle
- Your address has not changed
- Your registration has not been expired for more than 2 months
- Your vehicle has valid insurance
- You want to renew your vehicle registration for one year
The registration certificate will be mailed within 10 business days to the address recorded in the motor vehicles system.
If you do not receive your new registration after 10 business days, take your printed receipt to any registry agent within 30 days of paying online for a no-fee registration certificate replacement. After 30 days you may be charged a fee by the registry agent.
If you attempt to renew any other vehicle types than those listed above or if any of the following conditions apply, your request will be rejected:
- Any outstanding fines.
- Maintenance enforcement restrictions.
- Outstanding motor vehicle debt.
If the information provided does not match what is recorded in the Motor Vehicles System, you will not be able to proceed online and you will need to visit a registry agent.

In accordance with the Traffic Safety Act (TSA), Operator Licensing and Vehicle Control Regulation, and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (S.33) for motor vehicle services, the Registrar of Motor Vehicles collects personal information for the following purposes: to confirm the identity and eligibility of an individual for motor vehicle services and for motor vehicle records held by motor vehicles; investigation and enforcement; and for contact information, including the residential address in order or the personal serving of documents under the TSA.
