Terms of Use

The eServices Portal (“Portal”) provides secure access to participating online services (“Online Services”) provided by the Government of Alberta (“GoA”), on the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Use”). The Terms of Use incorporate the Additional Terms, also referenced below.
Registration
You may be required to register for an Alberta.ca Account to access some of the Online Services.

User Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring that any information provided by you in using the Online Services is complete and accurate, and is kept current. Any false, inaccurate or misleading information will be considered a breach of these Terms of Use.
Approval
The GoA may require you to apply and be approved for access to specific Online Services.
Additional Terms
The GoA may set additional terms and conditions (“Additional Terms”) in relation to your use of a specific Online Service by posting the Additional Terms on the website used to access that Online Service.
Authorized Purposes
You agree to use the eServices Portal and the Online Services only for the purpose of obtaining Online Services from the GoA. You agree not to use the eServices Portal or the Online Services for any illegal activities.
The GoA reserves the right to block any automated system, script, bot, or device (including web crawlers, scrapers, or any form of data mining or extraction tools) activities on the Portal regardless of whether they have any impact on the performance or integrity of the Portal.
Any unauthorized access or use of the Portal, including attempts to circumvent or manipulate any security features or technical restrictions may result in suspension of accounts or users temporarily or indefinitely.
Remedies Available to the GoA
If you breach any of these Terms of Use, the GoA, in its sole discretion, may take any steps that it determines are necessary in its sole discretion, including but not limited to suspension or termination of your use of the Online Services.
Discontinuance of Service
The GoA may discontinue the Online Services at any time without giving you notice.
No Warranties
The Online Services are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, including warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. The GoA does not warrant the accuracy or the completeness of the Online Services, or that the Online Services will function without error, failure or interruption.
Limitation of Liability
No action may be brought by any person against the GoA for any loss or damage of any kind caused by any reason or purpose including, without limitation, reliance on the functioning of the Online Services.
Amendments
The GoA may amend these Terms of Use at any time without prior notice. Your acceptance of the Terms of Use constitutes your consent to the amended Terms of Use.
Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws in force in Alberta, and you agree and submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Alberta.
Third Party Links
The Online Services may contain links to third party sites. The GoA provides these links only as a service and convenience, and does not take any responsibility for the content at the third party sites. A link to these sites does not imply an endorsement or recommendation of the products, services or information found there. A third party website may have a privacy policy different from that of the GoA, and may provide less security than the Online Services. The GoA disclaims all liability with regard to your access to linked web sites. The GoA reserves the right to regularly review and re-evaluate any and all links and reserves the right to terminate any link without prior notification.
Communications
The GoA may send emails to you at the email address you provided about your use of the Online Services, including communications about your account activity.
Claims and Disputes
Any claims or disputes as to availability, quality, receipt, price and satisfaction of goods or services or the amount of a Transaction must be settled directly between the product supplier GoA business area and the cardholder.
Transaction Currency
All transactions within the eServices Portal will be conducted in Canadian Currency only.
Saved Payment Card Information
Saving your payment card information on the Portal is optional and requires your explicit opt-in. If you choose to save your card details for future use, you authorize the GoA to facilitate the secure collection and tokenization of your payment card information. The GoA does not store or retain your payment card data. All card information is securely encrypted and stored by our third-party payment processor, in full compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
Optional Feature: Saving your card is optional. You may opt in at any time and opt out by removing your saved card through your My Account settings.
Data Security: The GoA uses industry-standard encryption and security protocols but is not liable for unauthorized access or use resulting from circumstances beyond its control.
User Responsibility: You are responsible for managing your account credentials and ensuring only authorized users access your account. The GoA is not liable for unauthorized use of saved card information through your account.
