RTDRS Application Filing Fee
Effective April 1, 2026
RTDRS filing fees are based on the claim amount only. Any costs being claimed are not included when determining the fee.
Selecting the wrong fee may delay your application. Please ensure you choose the correct RTDRS filing fee when making your payment.
A receipt will be emailed to the email address you provide during the checkout process after your payment has been processed. An RTDRS Information Officer will be in contact with you, via email, after reviewing your application.
The Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service (RTDRS) is an alternative to the courts in resolving landlord and tenant disputes. The RTDRS is faster, less formal and less expensive than going to the courts. Landlords and tenants may make an application for remedies under the Residential Tenancies Act. The RTDRS may accept applications of up to $100,000. Applications must be made within 2 years from the date that a potential claim is discovered.
RTDRS application fee is based on the amount being claimed (see above). Your application will be processed once payment has been received.
Refunds:
- Fees collected go toward the cost of processing your application.
- Fees are non-refundable.
- Duplicate payment for the same fee may be subject to a refund. Refunds will be issued through the same payment method you used to make the purchase.
