Hunting Licences
Going hunting? Make sure you've got the licences and permits you'll need.
You can purchase a hunting licence online by registering on Albertarelm.com. Licences cost the same online or at an issuer, no service fees are added. Costs vary according to the type of licence.
Please read Alberta's Regulations before you buy a licence to make sure you're purchasing the right one. Licences are non-refundable and non-transferable.
To purchase a hunting licence online, you'll need:
- access to a printer as well as the internet. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to print your licence.
- an email address. Free addresses are available from Internet services such as Hotmail and Gmail
- a valid credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover)
if you are purchasing a licence that requires a tag, you must obtain a paper tag. Tags are available by calling toll free in North America 1-888-944-5494 and at Fish and Wildlife district offices and licence issuers. A list of licence issuers is available on Albertarelm.com or by calling the toll free number.
Hunters must have a 10-digit Wildlife Identification Number (WIN) to apply for draws, purchase wildlife certificates, licences and replacements. WIN cards cost $8 plus GST, are valid for five years and are available from the same sources as hunting licences.
