The Alberta Conservation Plate is a specialty plate that promotes environmental stewardship and celebrates Alberta’s natural beauty. The design features Mount Lougheed and images of Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, Alberta’s official provincial mammal.

Most of the money raised from the sale of speciality plate will go towards the Alberta Conservation Association, a charitable organization that helps conserve, protect, and enhance fish and wildlife populations and their habitats for Albertans to enjoy, value and use.

• Alberta Conservation Plates are currently available for registration in all classes of vehicles except:

• • Dealer Plates
  • Antiques
  • Consular Corp
  • Disabled
  • Off-highway
  • Motorcycle

• Letters and numbers are issued in sequential order; they cannot be personalized.
• Plates will be mailed directly from the manufacturer.
• After receiving your Alberta Conservation Plate, you have two choices; you can do nothing or register it to one of the accepted classes of vehicles by visiting any registry agent location.
• Registration can be done at the time of vehicle registration renewal for no extra fees or at any time prior to renewal - standard registration and licence plate exchange fees will apply.
• Registration must be done prior to affixing the licence plate to your vehicle.
• Alberta Conservation Plates can only be registered in the name that it is ordered in. If you are affixing the plate to an existing vehicle registration, please check your vehicle registration prior to ordering. If the vehicle is registered in a different name, or more than one name, please attend a registry agent to order your plate.
