Alberta Builder Licence - Application Fee
As of December 1, 2017, residential builders must hold a valid licence in order to build residential homes in Alberta. A licence is valid for one year.
There are two licence classes:
- Developer
- General Contractor
The fee for a new licence application is $600.00, and $500.00 for a renewal licence application. No discount are given.
Your application will be processed once payment has been received.
Refunds:
- Payments are non-transferable. If an error was made, a refund can be requested and the builder can begin a new payment process.
- All refund requests must be made in writing to the Builder Licencing Program.
- Refund will be granted at the discretion of the registrar of the New Home Buyer Protection Act.
Find a Registry Agent
Select your registry agent. Registry agents offer registration, information and licensing services on behalf of government. The Government of Alberta is working collaboratively with registry agents to bring more government services online. You are not required to visit the selected registry agent.
