There are two kinds of birth certificates you can buy for your newborn:

  • A birth certificate with the child and parents’ information
  • A birth certificate with only the child’s information

A certified copy of the Registration of Birth cannot be ordered online; see Service Alberta, Family & Life for ordering details.

Rules & Conditions

Birth certificates will be delivered once your newborn’s registration information has been verified. 

You are assigned a tracking number when you submit your child's birth for registration.

Tracking numbers:

  • Can only be used once
  • Expire after one year

Please ensure any birth certificates are purchased within one year of receiving this tracking number.

Refunds:

  • There are no refunds for incorrect orders.
