Tour Description:

This tour offers a behind‑the‑scenes look at two producers involved in Alberta’s beverage sector. Delegates will visit Canada Malting Company to see how high-quality cereals are transformed into malt that fuels breweries and distilleries worldwide. Afterwards visit Bridgeland Distillery, for an up-close look at how local grains are crafted into premium spirits, showcasing the full journey from raw ingredient to finished, award-winning products.  

About the companies:

Canada Malting Company is the largest malt company in Canada, producing approximately 40,000 metric tonnes of malt per year. Working with Canadian farmers, they source premium barley to offer diverse malt products that meet the needs of brewers and distillers around the world. With over 100 years of experience, they are dedicated to quality and tradition.

Bridgeland Distillery is an Alberta craft distillery that produces premium spirits including whisky and brandy. They are known for their focus on locally sourced ingredients and small-batch production, working closely with regional farmers to highlight Alberta’s agricultural products. Receiving international recognition, the distillery showcases quality and the distinct character of Alberta-crafted spirits.

Transportation

Transportation to the facilities from Hotel Arts is included as part of your registration.

Please arrive at 12:30 PM in the lobby of Hotel Arts to sign in and for a brief orientation prior to departure. 

Refreshments

Please note that light refreshments will be provided on the tour, however, participants are encouraged to eat beforehand and will be responsible for their own supper arrangements after the tour.

Safety

For safety purposes, registrants are required to dress according to the facility’s requirements. Please wear closed-toe, flat-bottomed shoes and wear full-length pants. Avoid skirts and do not wear jewelry. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided at each facility and restrooms will be available at designated stops along the tour.

Translators in French and Spanish will be available.
