Non-mining Blaster's Permits
A receipt will be emailed to you once your payment has been processed. Please print the receipt and submit it with your completed application form as proof of payment.
Prices shown exclude GST, which will be added at checkout.
In Alberta, any worker who handles, prepares, fires, burns or destroys an explosive must hold a valid government-approved permit.
These are the types of non-mining blaster’s permits:
- Avalanche control
- Beaver dam blasting
- Destruction of explosives
- High energy joining
- Oilwell perforating blasting
- Surface blasting (boiler and general blasting)
- Seismic blasting

Failure to provide a receipt with your application will delay the issuing of a permit.
Refunds:
- Fees collected go toward the issuance of non-mining blaster's permits.
- Fees collected for permit applications that are denied are eligible for refund.
- Refunds will be issued through the same payment method you used to make the purchase.
Find a Registry Agent
Select your registry agent. Registry agents offer registration, information and licensing services on behalf of government. The Government of Alberta is working collaboratively with registry agents to bring more government services online. You are not required to visit the selected registry agent.
